The streets of New York are talking and Amon Focus is here to tell us what they are saying. Since 2014 he’s been documenting the history of the five boroughs through photography, art, podcasts, and video content under the moniker New York Said.

If you ever meet Amon you’ll immediately feel his passion for New York. He’s captured an ever-changing animalistic environment in great detail which is no easy task to do, especially in the Concrete Jungle. I had the chance to talk with Amon about why he started New York Said, how the city has changed over the years, the challenges of keeping up and building the archive, and how he chooses what to curate.

Warning: This is not your typical Talking To Vinny interview. After an hour and a half long conversation with Amon, I felt inspired to break up the recording of the interview into sections.
